Why does a streaming VPS need a 10 Gbps port?

Live broadcasts, RTMP ingest and HLS distribution consume bandwidth continuously and intensively. A 10 Gbps port avoids egress bottlenecks for concurrent streams, relays and large audiences.

Can I use OBS, vMix, FFmpeg or a media server?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You have root access and can install OBS Studio, vMix, FFmpeg, Nginx-RTMP, Wowza, Ant Media, SRS or any streaming stack on Linux or Windows Server. Intel Xeon hardware with DDR4 and NVMe SSD provides enough CPU and memory for real-time encoding and transcoding.

Is the 10 Gbps port guaranteed?

Yes. All plans have a dedicated 10 Gbps physical network interface on your VPS. End-viewer speed depends on their connection and internet routes, but server egress capacity - ingest, relay and distribution - is not throttled within the contracted allowance.

How much bandwidth allowance do I need for streaming?

Accepted Answer

It depends on resolution, bitrate and viewer count. As a reference: a 1080p stream at 6 Mbps with 1,000 concurrent viewers uses about 2 TB/hour. Use the selector above to contract from 10 TB to 400 TB/mo and size with predictability - R$ 8 per additional TB.

Does the IP include Anti-DDoS protection?

No. Streaming plans with 10 Gbps prioritize network throughput and do not include Anti-DDoS mitigation on the IP. In case of attack, the address may be blackholed to preserve network stability. For protected broadcasts, check our Anti-DDoS VPS.

Does it work for IPTV, web radio and live TV?

Yes, as long as the transmitted content complies with copyright and applicable licenses. The VPS is suitable for licensed IPTV operators, web radio/TV stations, churches, corporate events, live classes and any continuous audio/video distribution scenario.
